Bike People of Indy - Ep. # 5 - Mauricio Acosta

In this episode we had the opportunity to speak with local bike mechanic/messenger & friend, Mauricio Acosta, in our future shop space at Factory Arts District.

This week’s episode feature’s a very familiar face in the Indy bike scene, Mauricio Acosta. You may recognize him from his previous work at Freewheelin’ Community Bikes, Bicycle Garage Indy, and his various messenger jobs downtown delivering food via bike. He has always leaned into empowering Indy’s youth via bicycles, and currently does this with local non-profit 913 Sports. He’s also a big fan of Bike Party and attends often.

Mauricio is a very talented bike mechanic, craftsman, and worker of physical materials. He enjoys crafting and fabricating with metals, make sure next time you see him to say hi and ask him to show you his rings made of old spoons and cutlery. He is a people-person, easy to talk to, super-chill, and a real treasure for the Indy bike community to have here.
